Networking and Communication

Communication and exchange of materials enables member organisations to easily access important information in order to strengthen the women's rights programmes in their respective countries. The exchange of case studies and educational methodologies provides a means of improving strategies with regard to lobbying, advocacy and rights education. In addition, networking allows for local, regional, and national co-ordination and action.

WiLDAF networks in a variety of ways:

  • Regular communication with WiLDAF member organisations to let members know what is happening in the region and elsewhere and affords an opportunity for solidarity and coalition building.
  • WiLDAF facilitates workshops and seminars bringing together organisations focusing on similar issues and using complimentary strategies.
  • WiLDAF also networks and collaborates with organisations from all over the world working in the field of women, law and development.
  • At the national level, WiLDAF collaborates with both government and non-governmental agencies including: WAJU, CHRAJ, FIDA, LAWA, GSHRDC, ABANTU , ARK Foundation, CEDEP, WISE, AWLA, etc.
  • WiLDAF and its network members carry out various activities in the area of advocacy for women’s rights. One such activity is the commemoration of the 16 Days Campaign of Activism on Violence Against Women from November 25-December 10 each year.
