· Mission Statement

WiLDAF-Ghana seeks to increase women’s participation and influence at the community, national, and international levels through initiating, promoting, and strengthening strategies which link law and development.

· Vision Statement

WiLDAF-Ghana’s vision is to see a Ghana where women’s rights are promoted, protected and respected.

As presented in the Strategic Plan document, the new and enhanced vision of WiLDAF-Ghana for the period 2005-2007 is:

“To create an organization which epitomizes civil society’s desire to promote, protect, and respect women’s rights in Ghana by the year 2007.”

· Rights Based Approach

WiLDAF-Ghana employs the rights based approach in its legal and development work. Its advocacy leans strongly on human rights provisions of international conventions and treaties, as well as national legislation including the Constitution. It provides opportunities to strengthen the voice of the poor through participation and assistance to uphold their rights and entitlements. WiLDAF has been instrumental in the adoption of the Protocol on the Rights of Women to the African Charter.
